Based in the greater Seattle area, Paracom began as a technology oriented company providing quality public communication services in major traffic venues such as airports, convention centers and cruise terminals.
Paracom was founded in 1997 by two former employees of McCaw Cellular - David Fukuhara, who worked in Business Development, and Daniel Agar, who worked in Engineering. In 1998, they began the installation and management of pay telephones, prepaid phone card machines, and change machines at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as the DBE subcontractor for U.S. West, which became Qwest Communications, and later Century Link.

In 2000, Paracom opened a branch office in Honolulu, Hawaii, launching public internet/retail business center operations at Honolulu International Airport in association with Travelex Foreign Exchange, and now ICE Currency. The Paracom Business Center was the first company to offer public internet access and wi-fi service for travelers passing through the airport. Then in 2004, we rebranded the proprietary concept to FlightDeck Business Centers, currently operating four locations at the airport.
In 2001, Qwest Communications and Paracom were awarded the payphone and phone card vending contract at Salt Lake City International Airport, just in time for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, with custom designed Olympic branded phone cards.
In 2004, our new sister company, Concourse Concessional LLC, was awarded three (3) food and beverage contracts at Sea-Tac International Airport, which developed into Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, La Pisa Café, and Waji's at Sea-Tac. In 2018, Caffe D'arté was selected among a crowded field, as the new coffee concept for renovated North Satellite, opening March of 2019.
In 2004, Paracom launched comprehensive pay telephone service at Anchorage International Airport with GCI, the largest telecommunications operator in Alaska. To coincide with the unveiling of the new Concourse C, Paracom installed advanced pay telephones along with complementary designed enclosure units to match the new airport interiors.
In 2005, Paracom launched pay telecom services in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, under a sub-agreement with Kellee Communications, operating an all Millennium payphone base of 100 throughout the airport.
In 2007, Paracom began foreign exchange services in Detroit Airport under a sub-agreement with ICE Currency Services.
In 2008, Paracom won the payphone and phone card contract at Oakland International Airport.
In 2016, Paracom launched Mana Lani Massage, offering licensed and certified spa services, centrally located at Honolulu International Airport. Operation was permanently closed in 2020.
In 2018, an InMotion Entertainment and Paracom joint-venture partnership were awarded two locations at Sea-Tac International Airport offering InMotion's wide-range of consumer electronics for the traveling public.
Paracom is also proud to offers a range of network and telecom system installation and management for small business, along with professional graphic design services for select clientele. Although founded on a telecommunications background, Paracom has constantly evolved with implementation of fresh ideas and concepts using thoughtful, logical methodology, based on a foundation of experience, with proven leadership and management for the provision of diverse airport concession services.
